"All my life I've been obsessed with aesthetic enhancement, whether it be achieved with hair dye and makeup, sewing machine and scissors, paint and wallpaper, plants and pavers, or scalpel and stitches. The prospect and process of remaking, remodeling, and reworking something into a heightened, beautified, intensified version of itself is something that never ceases to thrill me. 

 

Integral to this concept of renovation is that when the dust has settled, some part of the original must still remain. That the subject matter itself provides the framework and dictates the direction and limitations of its own re-imagining is the inherent challenge of the project.
