An unstoppable passion for expressive painting.

Valery Korotkov was born on September 15, 1961 in the village of Ikryanoe, Astrakhan Oblast, Russia.  Since early childhood, Valery loved to draw and drew basically on everything, beginning from a dinner table and ending with wallpaper from the living room. After his "rock paintings" on cabinets and wardrobes, his mother's patience came to an end and she enrolled her son to an Art Academy.  Valery attended an Art Academy for 4 years, practicing his drawing and painting skills not only in school, but outside, by portraying everyone from teachers to neighbors.
In 1979, Valery got accepted by Astrakhan Art School of P.A.Vlasov from which he successfully graduated in 1984. Today, Valery resides in Redmond, Washington; he is happily married and adores his children.Paintings by Valery Korotkov are in private collections in Germany, Poland, Greece and the USA.
