Karen says "I fell in love with silk painting
with fiber reactive dyes in 1994, after
studying with Seattle artists and arts activist,
Su Job. I've always had a passion for
wonderful, luscious fabrics, rich in color,
texture, history, and tradition..." Karen uses a
Japanese resist dyeing technique, known as
Shibori. She says "My dyeing process is
virtually a dance, and is infused with intention
and awareness for the one who will wear the
finished piece, being mindful of playfulness,
fun, vibrance, beauty and feeling wonderful."
